ClearCorrect: The Clear and Simple Choice

Everyone wants a healthy, beautiful smile. Not only does it look great, but having that bright dazzling smile can make you feel confident and grand. While some have naturally seemingly perfect smiles, many individuals will seek the help of orthodontic treatments to obtain straight teeth. Most patients going through this process will traditionally be between the ages of 10-17 when the jaw and teeth are easier to move around. However, more adults have been seeking treatment to correct alignment, straighten teeth, and overall get a brilliant smile. Through advancements in orthodontic procedures over the past several years, there is an alternative to traditional mental braces to help achieve these goals.

ClearCorrect, a clear aligner, is a series of removable trays that are custom molded to fit your mouth. Through the process, the aligners are each slightly different as you switch between them, gradually straightening your teeth to the smile that you always imagined. With ClearCorrect, there are no wires or brackets, nor rubber bands to deal with as your teeth become straighter. Many believe that ClearCorrect, or any series of clear aligners, are only available to a select patient whose dental correction needs may be small. ClearCorrect is able to treat a wide variety of orthodontic issues such as:

·Gaps and spaces between teeth

·Overcrowding of teeth

·Adjusting overbites/ under bites

·Correcting cross bites / open bites

There are more benefits to having your teeth aligned correctly, not only is it aesthetically pleasing to have a wonderful and straight smile, but it can help to improve your oral health as well. Patients who have undergone an orthodontic procedure, such as ClearCorrect, have found the ability to care for their teeth at home much easier. Simple brushing and flossing with straighter teeth, can help reduce the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease.

When consulting with your orthodontist on if ClearCorrect is the right oral corrective option for you, they determine the severity of your case. Most are able to use ClearCorrect, however, there are some cases where the procedures needed for correction would not be the best for clear aligners. Once your orthodontist confirms that ClearCorrect is the perfect option, they will take a series of x-rays, photos and impressions of your teeth that are then sent off to create the aligners you will use during your treatment plan.

ClearCorrect allows the patient to have the freedom and flexibility than those wearing traditional metal braces. Although keeping them on as much as possible helps to achieve your dream smile faster, being able to remove them for eating and brushing your teeth reduces the risk of broken brackets, food getting stuck in wires, and you can still eat apples! ClearCorrect uses a material made out of polyurethane resin that is more comfortable when wearing for long periods and easier for removing/ putting the aligners on. This material has also been designed to work faster than other clear aligners on the market today.
