The Difference Between Invisalign & Clear Correct

You have decided to take the next step into your dental journey by investing in a beautiful healthy smile. The process to getting there is a little daunting but your orthodontist has some good news, you can obtain that perfect smile by a clear tray that is almost impossible to detect from an outside perspective. Over the past few years this alternative to traditional braces has become increasingly popular, especially among adults looking for a dental corrective system. With more systems out there and innovative technology the accuracy of the desired outcome is better than ever. So now the real question is, which one is right for you?

Of course your orthodontist is going to help you narrow down your options, but let’s look at the two most popular dental corrective system that are most orthodontists swear by, Invisalign and Clear Correct. On the surface, both seem exactly the same. They are similar clear trays that you wear for a few weeks and switch out with a new set to help move your teeth into their new placement. Both are removable making them much more comfortable than traditional metal braces (yes you can eat apples when being treated by clear aligners!). When the aligners are first fitted, your orthodontist will take multiple x-rays and create a personalized treatment plan specific to your case by using an aligner software program. Once your plan is finished, just like with traditional braces, you will most likely get fitted for a retainer to wear afterwards reducing usage gradually.

Invisalign seems to be the more popular brand name. They are FDA approved, BPA and BPS-free, they also do not have any gluten or latex. Both brands are offered in a variety of treatment plan options based on each cases severity. Currently Invisalign are the only aligners to use SmartTrack, made by Align Technology, which is well known for its comfort and secure fit. To be able to get either Invisalign or Clear Correct, your dentist or orthodontist must be certified and registered as a licensed provider.

The material that Clear Correct is made out of is polyurethane resin which is meant to be even more comfortable for wearing and easier when removing or putting the aligners on. This material is also beneficial to treatments as is was designed to work even faster than Invisalign. Comparing the cost of the two aligners are roughly similar only fluctuating a few hundred dollars based on the treatment plan option. Both brands claim to be the more comfortable for long wear and through the process of taking them off and on. Across the board, both options seem like a “clear” winner as they both get fantastic reviews by most patients. While no case is going to be the same, it is always best to consult with your Orlando Invisalignor Clear Correct provider, like the team at Baptiste Orthodontics to help you determine which clear aligner treatment would be the best fit for you!
