What Can ClearCorrect Treat?

Dr. Baptiste • April 30, 2021
There comes a time in everyone’s life where they may have to decide if orthodontics are a benefit to you. While there are a few lucky individuals who were born with natural perfectly straight teeth, most people find themselves in the dentist chair getting fit for brackets and wires. However, medicine and technology have come a long way just in the past few decades and the braces of the past are not the same innovation and efficient ones of today.

One of the most dreaded things about getting braces is the anxiety, the feeling of becoming a social pariah, and the start of self-image issues. At least, it used to be. Braces do not have to be the traditional metal wires and rubber bands. Technology has come a long way and now patients can get their teeth straight with only a little plastic. No longer do teens, or even adults, have to worry about a mouth full of metal. ClearCorrect is one of these innovative systems that uses clear aligners to help straighten teeth. By applying a series of clear and removable trays gradually, your teeth with begin to slowly move to their predetermined destination. ClearCorrect is custom made for each patient, as no two individuals, or their cases, are completely alike.

Your dentist, or orthodontist, will make impressions, photos and gather other data, to send along to the ClearCorrect laboratory where your custom built aligner prescription will be made using a 3-D replica of your mouth. This will help to create a complete treatment plan that matches up with each aligner tray provided. This plan will also map out a visual representation of your teeth from before and what the projected outcome will look like.

ClearCorrect’s treatment plan consists of four different aligner therapy phases. Each one requires new sets of trays that are worn for three weeks at a time. These aligners are worn all day, every day, except when eating, drinking or attending your dental hygiene duties (brushing and flossing). Because they are clear, those who take this journey can be sure that they are barely noticed and do not cause too much hassle from your daily activities and routine. Changes to your teeth with be slowly noticeable at first, but with periodic check-ups to check progress and receive your new set of aligners, you will begin to see big differences soon. Depending on each patients case, treatment can last anywhere from 9 months to 2 years. Your orthodontist will have more of a specific timeline after your first consultation.

Having straight teeth not only is aesthetically pleasing, but it is also a health benefit. By having straight teeth you are able to properly brush and floss in between each tooth, which if not done could lead to tooth decay. You chew your food more evenly which leads to better digestion (and bowel movements). If you are thinking of ClearCorrect braces in Orlando and would like to see if they would be a good fit for you, contact Baptiste Orthodontics today for a consultation!
